Newcastle United are gearing up for their 2024-25 Premier League season opener against Southampton on August 11th.
Magpies head coach Eddie Howe is expected to make a big decision on Kieran Trippier's involvement in the match. The England international has been struggling with a knock and his availability is in doubt.
If Trippier is ruled out, Emil Krafth is likely to deputize at right-back. The Swedish defender has impressed in pre-season and is ready to step into the breach.
Another player who could be in line for a start is new signing Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker joined Newcastle in a club-record £40m deal from Real Sociedad and is expected to make his debut against Southampton.
