Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland to miss several weeks
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland will miss several weeks of action after suffering a bone bruise in his left knee, the team announced Monday. Garland was injured in the Cavaliers' 112-98 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.
The injury is a significant blow to the Cavaliers, who are currently the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. Garland is averaging 20.3 points, 8.2 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game this season.
The Cavaliers will now be without their starting point guard for an extended period of time. Backup point guard Ricky Rubio is expected to start in Garland's place.
The Cavaliers will next play on Wednesday against the Miami Heat.
